Lost Directions ...

All I can say is that this isn’t the way it was meant to be. Completely lost. Clueless!
I'm in one of my grumpy moods today with absolutely no reason to justify.

Just wondering how easy it would have been if only life came with a roadmap. A few warning signs to let you know when the hard decisions are ready to spring, or when a major cross road is looming.

But it doesn’t work like that. All I can do is start from here, where ever I happen to be, armed with the little I know. After all the road map does exist in each one of us. This is the time when the instinct acts as a compass and the roadmap for life becomes visible.

Nice trilogy huh? What am I babbling about ?
Owe it to mid week crisis ... back to work now....

Earth Hour 2009 – What Will You Be Doing?

Cuddling up with your loved ones and admiring the stars in the night sky or organising a treasure hunt in the dark? At 8:30pm on Saturday 28 March, people from all corners of the world will turn off their lights for one hour - Earth Hour - and cast their vote for action on climate change. Anybody can participate and join together with millions of people across the globe celebrating Earth Hour.

Earth Hour is about taking simple steps everyday that collectively reduce carbon emissions – from businesses turning off their lights when their offices are empty to households turning off appliances rather than leaving them on standby.

Here are 10 different ways to spend Earth Hour and reduce your carbon footprint:

1. Attend a local Earth Hour event or organise your own by throwing an Earth Hour street party with your neighbours

2. Gather family & friends for a night picnic in your local park and look at the stars

3. Enjoy a family dinner by candlelight

4. Organise a treasure hunt in the dark

5. Take the dog for a night walk

6. Have a candle-lit bath

7. Sit in the dark and share stories

8. Organise a family night playing board games

9. Share a romantic night in with your loved one

10. Upload your ‘on the night’ photos and videos to flickr and YouTube respectively, and then add them to the Earth Hour flickr group and the global YouTube Group.

There are no hard and fast rules surrounding participation in Earth Hour. To find out more about Earth Hour, visit the official website www.earthhour.org, sign up and join millions of people in more than 1,400 cities and towns in 80 countries throughout the world by turning off your lights for one hour at 8:30pm on Saturday 28 March.

My Views : It is indeed a fantastic initiative and I'm already looking forward to it because this is definitely going to make a difference!!! One hour to show that we do really care about the planet we live in. If only we start to adopt measures to stop wasting natural resources on a daily basis, we could definitely bring in a revolution in saving the only planet with life.

Spread the word to others !
Let's give one back to the Earth...Shall we ?

When work-outs dont work out....

" What a feeling...!!! ", sure it was a great feeling of adrenaline rush to watch a very trim and fit Jennifer Beals dance to glory in this song from flash dance.

A fitness mania swept over me and I decided I was desperately in need of exercise. Of course I didn’t want to end up with an Ms Olympia look, but a little bit of exercise wouldn't do much harm. Jogging was out of question. I call it running because I have always pitied joggers. They are insane people with a thing for pain - just look at their eyes. Plus I am not one of those early-morning- type of person.

It was then that I entered the yoga phase. Yoga is interesting because anyone can do it. I began with breathing (Pranayaama). Breathing is said to be the foundation of yoga. It was a bit like saying “Gravity is the foundation of falling ", but I am open minded. Also learnt about the various joy centers in my body. Interestingly none were I expected them to be.. hehehe.. :-)
Finally the accident did happen. It was while trying out an asana, I discovered - half a second - too late that my body wasn't as flexible as it used to be. Something snapped and I ended up in a heap.

But that didn’t deter me. For over a week I had been trying to lift, pull and push for all I was worth. When I struggled out of bed this morning, my arms were so stiff I couldn’t brush my teeth. But the best part was that I worked out, and the session didn’t cost me a thing.
Fitness is like a good relationship: You take it slowly and then you commit. You might get hurt along the way .But when it's going well, you feel really good :-)

Look out Jennifer! Here I come...

One rainy day....

“Why don’t you blog? “. Very often people have bombarded me with this question. It’s been 2 years since I have been toying with the idea of blogging. Everybody seems to be blogging now-a-days. A trend that seems to have caught up the attention of Gen-Y. High time I start one.

The blog creation, which I must admit was an impulsive decision. Sitting by my desk and gazing into the raindrops dribbling on the window, it was the picturesque sight of the lush green gulmohar trees that made the day perfect to start this new venture. The air was a bath on my skin, and invigorating. I took this as a good omen to start afresh, to live life with a new perspective and to encash my potential to the fullest in the days to come.
Welcome to “My World “.
